Blue water. Long beaches. Little houses along the coast. And the sky stretching forever. Now imagine seeing it from a hot air balloon. In this workshop, you’ll paint a sweeping bay landscape on canvas — with waves rolling toward the beach, tiny coastal homes and a glowing sky above the water. From up in the balloon, everything looks different. The coastline curves. The sea sparkles. The sky becomes huge. Using oil paints, you’ll learn how to build layers of colour to create distance and atmosphere — turning your landscape into your own version of the bay. Students will learn how to organise a landscape scene: foreground, horizon line, coastline and sky. The focus is not just on technique, but on personal interpretation — encouraging each student to shape the view in their own way. Oil painting naturally slows the process, allowing young artists to blend colour and build depth across sky and water. For busy parents and restless school holiday days, this session provides something equally valuable: a calm, structured creative environment where children are fully engaged.
