Kids 9–14 years old | 10-Week Creative Adventure Theme: The Magic of Movies Learning Focus: Storytelling through Art ✨ Every year at Art Academica, we have a special tradition...Our final term of the year is always magical. As Christmas approaches, our studio transforms into a creative movie production house where students become concept artists, character designers, landscape painters, and visual storytellers. This term we'll explore how artists create the unforgettable worlds we see on the big screen—from the very first sketch to the final scene. Rather than simply recreating famous movies, students will develop their own imaginative ideas while learning professional artistic techniques used in animation, fantasy illustration, and concept art. 📚 Art History - The Magic of Movies & Imagination How did movies begin? How were dragons, magical creatures, and fantasy worlds created before computers? What is concept art, and why is it one of the most important stages of movie production? Students will discover the history of cinema, animation, movie posters, visual effects, and concept art while exploring how artists transform imagination into believable worlds. ✏ Drawing Project - Floating Kingdoms – Castles in the Sky Using pencils, liners, and **glow-in-the-dark markers**, students will design dramatic floating islands connected by bridges, waterfalls, clouds, and ancient castles. They will focus on composition, perspective, lighting, and environmental storytelling to create artwork that feels like a scene from a fantasy film. 🎨 Painting Project - Dragons' Kingdom Students will create a large acrylic painting of a cinematic fantasy landscape where dragons fly above mountains, castles, forests, and glowing skies. The focus will be on atmosphere, colour harmony, depth, and creating a sense of scale worthy of a movie concept painting. 🧵 Craft Project - Christmas Decorations – Wet & Dry Felting To finish the year, students will explore the traditional art of wet felting to create beautifully crafted Christmas decorations. This relaxing, hands-on project celebrates craftsmanship and provides each student with a handmade keepsake to take home for the festive season. 🌟 Annual Art Exhibition One of the highlights of every year is our Annual Art Academica Exhibition, held at the end of November. Every student will have the opportunity to exhibit a selected artwork in a professional gallery setting, celebrating month

Cancellation Policy
No more than TWO make-up classes are allowed per school term. Make-up class must be scheduled in advance and are limited to existing class times only. Make-up class is subject to availability of slots and classes. Make-up class is not transferable to the next term. Make up lessons can't be used as a credit for the next school holiday program. School is closed on the public holidays. If class comes on the public holiday, one of the make-up classes can be used to cover it if you want to catch up the program.
