💜🌊 Purple Ocean Oil Painting on Canvas | Ages 9–14 Duration: 3 hours 📍 Monet Campus – 753 Centre Road, Bentleigh East All materials and art smocks are provided. 🎨 FOR KIDS What if the ocean wasn’t blue? Imagine a coastline washed in violet, lavender and dusty pink, with soft clouds drifting above and tiny boats resting on the horizon. The scene feels calm, unusual and almost like a place from a dream. In this workshop, you’ll create your own Purple Ocean using oil paint on canvas. You’ll learn how to blend colours smoothly, soften edges and build gentle transitions between the sky, land and water. Oil paint gives you time to work slowly, adjust your colours and create rich, atmospheric layers. You can decide whether your landscape feels peaceful, mysterious or dramatic. Every choice from the shade of the sky to the movement of the brush will help shape the mood of your painting. This is your chance to explore colour freely and turn an imagined place into a finished artwork. 👨‍👩‍👧 FOR PARENTS This three-hour workshop gives students the time and space to develop a complete oil painting without feeling rushed. The main focus is blending while learning how to move between colours gradually and create soft atmospheric effects and use edges to suggest distance. For young artists aged 9–14, these skills support both technical growth and independent thinking. Students will strengthen concentration, patience and confidence while making thoughtful choices about colour, composition and mood. School holidays can be difficult to balance when parents are still working and children are suddenly home for longer days. This extended workshop offers a meaningful block of focused creative time, where students can stay engaged, enjoy the company of other young artists and work towards something they are proud to take home. The session is guided by professional artist-teachers, with all painting materials and art smocks provided. Students are welcome to come with friends and share the experience together. With limited studio spaces available and places filling fast, we recommend reserving your spot early.
