Claude Monet loved painting ponds — soft reflections of sky, bushes and floating colours that almost shimmer. In this workshop, you’ll create your own version of a Monet pond using oil paints on canvas. Soft blues. Gentle greens. Light pastel touches of sky and leaves. Instead of sharp lines, we’ll paint using impressionist brushstrokes — little strokes of colour that blend together when you step back. Did you know Monet painted his garden pond in Giverny more than 200 times? He believed the same place could look completely different depending on the light. By the end, you’ll have something very special. Your own little Monet. ⸻ 👨‍👩‍👧 FOR PARENTS A Little Monet – Pond introduces students aged 9–14 to impressionist technique through one of the most beloved subjects in art history. Working with oil paint on canvas, students explore how Monet used small, visible brushstrokes and soft pastel colours to suggest light, movement and atmosphere rather than precise detail. The session combines technical learning with cultural context, helping students connect their own painting process to the broader history of art. For many young artists, recreating a masterpiece becomes a powerful confidence moment — a reminder that great art is something they can step into and experience firsthand. Last time this theme was offered at our Picasso Campus, the workshop sold out quickly. Interest is already strong again. A peaceful painting process. A connection to art history.
