Kids 9-14 years old • 10 Week Adventure 🍄 Theme: “Mycology — The Magical Science of Mushrooms” ✨ Learning Focus: Patterns in Nature 📅 Term dates: 26 January - 4th April. In this term on Friday we will have public holiday: 3 April - Good Friday Please book make up classes as usual on any days available during this week if you want to catch up. In this term on Monday we will have public holidays: 26 January-Australia Day 9 March - Labour Day Please book make up classes as usual on any days available during those weeks if you want to catch up. Next term, we’re shrinking down to forest size! Our studio becomes a tiny world of mushroom villages, jumping frogs, secret fairy windows, and spotted umbrellas sprouting from the soil. Children will not only draw mushrooms — they’ll study how they grow, turn them into characters, design their homes, and fill their forest with patterns only nature could invent. 📚 Art History (Week 1) We’ll see how real artists turned nature into storytelling — from fairytale illustrators to botanical explorers. 🖌 Drawing Project (pencil) 🏡 Design your own mushroom house — with windows, doors, chimneys, and maybe even a snail mail postbox! 🎨 Painting Project (Oil Pastel) 🐸 Create a bold poster-style mushroom with funny frogs, playing with bright colours and spotted patterns. 🧵 Craft Project 🍄 Shape a plasticine mushroom character scene — will your mushroom wear shoes? Glasses? A crown? You decide! 🌿 Why Mushrooms? Because mushrooms challenge young artists to think like designers: ✔ Their patterns are mathematical ✔ Their structures are architectural ✔ Their shapes inspire character design ✔ Their forms help students learn shadow, volume & composition This age group will explore nature as creators who observe, analyse, and invent. Cancellation Policy
No more than TWO make-up classes are allowed per school term. Make-up class must be scheduled in advance and are limited to existing class times only. Make-up class is subject to availability of slots and classes. Make-up class is not transferable to the next term. Make up lessons can't be used as a credit for the next school holiday program. School is closed on the public holidays. If class comes on the public holiday, one of the make-up classes can be used to cover it if you want to catch up the program.
