Fields are covered with colourful spring flowers. And slowly… a little pink train travels through the valley. In this workshop, you’ll paint this peaceful alpine landscape on canvas using oil paints — soft pastel colours for the flowers, bright spring greens in the valley and cool blue snowy mountains far away. Near things look big. Far mountains look soft and tiny. That’s the magic of perspective. By the end, your canvas will feel like a calm window into the mountains. Perfect for a quiet, beautiful painting day 🏔️✨ ⸻ 👨‍👩‍👧 FOR PARENTS Spring in the Alps is a landscape oil painting workshop focused on one of the most important artistic skills: creating distance and perspective. Students will learn how artists suggest depth by adjusting scale, colour softness and contrast. The composition — flower fields in the foreground, a small train crossing the valley, and distant snowy mountains — naturally guides students through these spatial relationships. The pastel palette and gentle composition make this a particularly relaxing workshop, ideal for the middle of the school holidays when students benefit from a calm, focused activity. Many students enjoy attending this session with friends, turning the workshop into a creative outing while still producing a refined, beautiful artwork.
