"Bugs and Butterflies"- Illustration & Collaging Workshop Ages 9-14 years 📍 VanGogh Campus — 64 Rosstown Road, Carnegie ⏰ 22 January 2:00-5:00 pm FOR KIDS Step into a world where imagination becomes architecture — where wings can glow, patterns can pulse, and every creature is a tiny masterpiece engineered by you. In this workshop, we’ll build sophisticated bugs and butterflies using painted paper, layered textures, and expressive illustration techniques. You’ll design your own species, choose its colours, shape its personality, and give it a place in your miniature ecosystem. Cool fact: collage artists often paint their own papers so the textures feel more alive — just like the legendary Eric Carle. You’ll learn how to do that too, but with your own creative twist. Expect freedom, experimentation, and that deeply satisfying click when your artwork suddenly comes together. FOR PARENTS This workshop was created for kids who enjoy more independence and deeper creative exploration, this workshop encourages students to think like illustrators and designers. We focus on composition, layering, colour choices, and refining details — all while keeping the process playful and expressive. It’s an excellent session for kids building confidence, strengthening artistic identity, and experimenting with mixed media in a guided but open environment.
