"A Little Monet – Pond"- Oil Painting Workshop Ages 9-14 years 📍 Monet Campus — 753 Centre Road Bentleigh East ⏰ 15 January 2:00-5:00 pm Part of our “Impressionist Masterpieces” series FOR KIDS Imagine stepping right into one of Claude Monet’s dreamy worlds — soft ripples on the pond, trees glowing in the sunlight, and colours that look like they’re dancing on the water. In this workshop, you’ll paint your very own mini-Impressionist masterpiece, learning how to make water shimmer, leaves glow, and light feel alive on the canvas. You’ll explore how Impressionist painters worked fast, used bold brushstrokes, and mixed colours on the canvas to capture the feeling of a moment — not just the picture. And yes… you get to paint just like Monet for an afternoon! Monet painted his pond and garden over 250 times because light changed every hour — that’s how magical nature can be when you look closely. FOR PARENTS This workshop introduces young artists to classic Impressionist techniques — soft blending, broken colour, atmospheric light, and expressive brushwork inspired by Claude Monet. Students will study the balance between detail and mood, learning how to create a landscape that glows with movement and emotion. As part of our “Impressionist Masterpieces” series, this session builds valuable painterly skills while broadening students’ art history awareness. With supportive guidance and a peaceful subject, this is a perfect mix of technical learning and creative exploration. And as always — art is better when shared, so we encourage students to invite a friend to join in this serene afternoon of painting.
