"This Is LoVE!"- Oil Painting Workshop Ages 9-14 years 📍 Monet Campus — 753 Centre Road Bentleigh East ⏰ 16 January 2:00-5:00 pm Created and taught by Elena Buya. FOR KIDS Imagine a pug with the roundest eyes, the squishiest face, and a heart so big it practically glows right through the canvas. In this workshop, you’ll paint an adorable pug peeking at you through a bright heart-shaped window, with soft shades of blue swirling around it like a breeze of happiness. You’ll learn how to paint expressive eyes, textured fur, and radiant colour contrasts that make your pug look full of pure, silly, wonderful love. And the best part? You get to decide what kind of personality your pug has — shy, cheeky, dramatic, or cuddly! Pugs were once royal pets in ancient China — tiny dogs with giant hearts who were believed to bring good luck and joy. FOR PARENTS “This Is LoVE!” is a heartwarming, skill-building oil painting session designed to help young artists explore expressive portraiture. Students will learn: • how to blend soft fur textures • how to paint emotion through eyes and facial features • how to use warm–cool colour contrast • how to build structure with layered oil techniques Under the gentle guidance of our talented artist Elena Buya, students will create a charming pug portrait filled with personality and emotional warmth. This workshop is perfect for developing observational skills, fine brushwork, and confidence with oil paint. And — as always — art is better with friends!
