Service Description

There is something magical about small worlds. A tiny chair that could fit on your fingertip. A curtain that looks like it could sway if a breeze came through. A little plant that feels alive, even though it lives on a miniature windowsill. This term, we’re inviting students into the art of *Mini Worlds* — where imagination meets design, and detail becomes a language of its own. Over the term, each student will design and build one miniature room, creating everything inside it from scratch. Not just the walls and the floor, but the life within it too: furniture, plants, textures, colours, little objects, and yes… even pets and curtains. This course is a gentle introduction to how design thinking and creativity work together. Students will plan their space, think about who lives in the room, what they love, how they move, and what makes a space feel warm and lived in. It’s not just about making tiny things — it’s about telling a story through space. Along the way, they will explore: how designers think about function and beauty, how scale changes the way we see the world, and how patience, problem-solving, and imagination turn simple materials into meaningful worlds. By the end of the term, each student will hold in their hands a complete miniature room — a tiny universe that reflects their ideas, their humour, their dreams. A small space with a big heart. Make-up classes are not available, as our payment structure is based on a set number of lessons per term, and we do not run additional make-up sessions.
